Project 1.1 required a journey to be taken through Newcastle Upon Tyne. I was given a route through the city and in a small group was to produce a group map to reflect our journey. The history of Newcastle was a shared interest amongst the group, therefore we focused our map on Newcastle’s interesting history. From this route I decided to look more closely at Fourth Lane. The lane began narrow and sheltered and ends open and light. Bright colors occupy the walls of Fourth Lane suggesting shapes and shadows throughout. While creating my Serial Vision drawing I began to highlight the interesting shapes and shadows caused by the use of color, by removing the color from the lane. I did this to reflect my journey and experience down Fourth Lane.
